Southwold is preparing itself for the start of the summer season. Visitors to the area begin to increase in the build up to summer. There are many events taking place in and around Southwold such as food and drink festivals and fairs. June is a lovely time of year to visit Southwold and below you will find out about some of the most popular events taking place here and in the surrounding area.

Visit the United Reformed Church Hall between March and December for their Friday Artisan Market. On offer are various arts and crafts including handmade cards, pebble art, textiles, jewellery, natural products and more.

Suffolk Wildlife Trust Walk - Orchids and Wild Flowers

Sunday 3rd June 2018

Hosted by botanist Stephen Massey, enjoy this walk to discover many of the wild flower spreads Suffolk gets to see each season. Walk lasts approximately 2 hours from 10.00am. Meet at Darsham Marshes car park off Yoxford Road.

Plant for Women's Wellbeing

Join Urban Jungle Suffolk in Beccles for a fabulous girls night in the Jungle! Learn how your garden plants can help you in more ways than you could imagine whilst enjoying a giggle and a cocktail or two... Plants and nature have an astounding ability to heal. TV presenter, media personality and gardening enthusiast Ellen Mary, has devised a series of 'Grow Your Own Health' talks and is kicking off with Plants for Women’s Wellbeing, addressing common female health issues and key life stages. Tickets are £15 and the evening begins at 6 pm (talks begin at 7 pm).

Southwold Ladies Doubles Tennis Coaching and Tournament

In aid of Dementia UK, St. Felix School will be hosting a day event of tennis coaching and a tournament. Whether you're semi-professional or you've never played tennis before, this is a fun day out for everyone all in the name of charity. A doubles partner is not needed, you can turn up with friends, family or alone. A lunch will be provided during the day and a raffle will take place. Suffolk Day Event - Inn to Inn Treasure Hunt

21st - 23rd June 2018

To celebrate Suffolk Day, The Ship Inn at Dunwich and The Westleton Crown have joined forces to encourage people to take part in a 'treasure hunt' walk, celebrating all things natural in Suffolk where you can get the chance to win a stay with breakfast at one of the Inns. You'll need to collect a treasure hunt map from either Inn and follow the trail for either 5 or 8 miles or the full circular walk, taking snaps of certain signs along the way. You'll then need to pass your picture to either Inn and you will be entered into the prize draw. This event is completely free and anyone can take part. Southwold Arts Festival 2018

23rd - 30th June 2018

The Southwold Arts Festival returns to showcase talent in and around the town. The programme will feature music, theatre, poetry, visual arts, family events, talks, discussions, literature and more. Full programme of events available at the Southwold Arts Festival website.

Silly Eric Day Camp

If you missed out on Silly Eric Day Camp last year you certainly won't want to miss out this time round! Hosted in Southwold local author Gracie Wright and her team provide daytime activities for children to keep them energised and entertained! Activities include football, arts and crafts, music, drama, writing workshops and much more! Children between the ages of 1 and 15 years old are very welcome and a full programme of events will be available soon. Africa By Night at Africa Alive
