Our Southwold cottages are perfect for an out-of-season break with many cottages offering a woodburner or open fire for those extra chilly days. If you’re looking to get away with the kids during February half term, there are many events taking place in Southwold and the surrounding area which are targeted at children and make the ideal family outing. Or for those who are looking for a Valentines escape with a loved one we have many cottages for two which will set the romantic scene. The Magic of Minsmere Weekday Walks - Weekdays throughout January, February & March 2017
Walking in Minsmere is a firm favourite amongst visitors to Suffolk so if you're new to the area or can't get enough of nature then take part in the weekend walks hosted by RSPB Minsmere. Discover more than 5,300 species and a wealth of history in a series of guided walks which last approximately 2-3 hours (subject to the season) with a knowledgeable member of the RSPB Minsmere team. Birdwatching for Beginners at RSPB Minsmere - Various Sundays throughout January, February & March 2017
Visit RSPB Minsmere this year and learn how to identify a range of bird species which can be found. An RSPB guide will take you through all the steps for recognising the birds as well as showing you how to use binoculars. No previous experience needed. Please remember to bring your binoculars or you can hire a pair from the RSPB reception area.
This event is being held on Sunday 8th January, Sunday 22nd January, Sunday 5th Feburary, Sunday 19th February, Sunday 5th March and Sunday 19th March 2017.
This event begins at 10.30 am and lasts for approximately 2.5 hours. Tickets cost £8 per adult and £4 per child, plus the normal reserve entry fee.
Southwold Pantomime – Aladdin - 22nd - 29th January 2017
Location: St Edmunds Hall. Reydon and Southwold Pantomime Group are a local pantomime group who produce an annual pantomime which is performed at the end of January every year. This year with be the group's 36th year. Tickets available to purchase locally and via the Ticket Source website.
Family Open Day at The Marina Theatre - Saturday 11th February 2017
The Marina Theatre in Lowestoft is one of the most popular theatres in the area. Bring along your family to this open day event where you can explore the building, learn some of the history and take part in lots of activities. These include drama classes, dancing, music workshops, costume and makeup demonstrations, treasure hunts and more. This event is free and kicks off from 11am. No need to book in advance just turn up on the day.
