Pared-back, contemporary styling and masses of space make this wonderful Walberswick property the perfect setting for a big group getaway. With a range of sleeping options, a choice of comfy seating areas, gorgeous gardens and a separate games room, it’s a gem of a house for holidays with family and friends.

Bedrooms and bathrooms

Three bedrooms and two bathrooms on the ground floor create convenience for all. Here you’ll find two double-bedded rooms – one with an en suite shower room – plus another with bunk beds that are ideal for younger guests, plus a second shower room easily accessed by everyone. Above, the first floor features a spacious family suite, where an impressive master bedroom has a King-sized bed and windows offering a view towards the Blackshore and Southwold beyond, plus an en suite bathroom complete with bath and separate shower cubicle.  A second bedroom on this level has two single beds and the option of a third pull-put – just let us know whether you’ll need this when you book. A calm, Scandi-style vibe in all the bedrooms is accentuated by warm splashes of colour for a real sense of home-from-home comfort.

Cooking and dining

Well-lit and with splashes of colour that complement its clean, wood-and-white cabinets, the kitchen here is fully kitted-out, with features including a five ring gas hob, two electric Bosch ovens, a fridge and separate freezer and a good range of storage space. Part of the open plan living room, the dining space comes complete with an extendable table and stylish seating for up to 10. For food and fun in the fresh air, you’ll find a patio table and chairs on the garden terrace beyond the kitchen and conservatory, and there’s a built-in barbecue out here, too.

Three garden areas give plenty of options for outdoor rest and recreation. Access to the property is via three steps down to the entrance lobby, and it’s here to the front of the property that you’ll find a small decking area which would be perfect for quiet times. To the rear there’s space for all to enjoy, including a patio leading onto a lawn and, through a gate in a beech hedge, a second grassed area perfect for children’s games. For fun out of the sun (or rain… it has been known to happen!) head to the garage – it’s fitted out as a games room complete with a high quality folding table tennis table, air hockey table and a darts board.

The owners’ tasteful, no-compromise touch is evident throughout this lovely holiday home – they really have thought of everything! Binge on a box-set in the living area where the TV has Freeview and Netflix, make light work of the washing and washing up courtesy of the equipment in the utility room, and keep cosy whatever the weather thanks to the oil-fired central heating and woodburner – a small basket of logs and kindling will be awaiting the arrival of winter guests. There’s private parking for three cars here and everything that makes Walberswick so special is within walking distance.

We had a fabulous week in Walberswick with our family, the holiday home was all we could wish for and the village and coast were as magical as ever. Lots of wonderful memories made for young and old. Ferrins is a delightful home, there is much more to it than appears at first glance. It is spotlessly clean and well equipped with many thoughtful touches showing how much the owners love the house themselves. It is furnished and decorated with superb taste, certainly no second hand rubbish in this home. There are plenty of comfortable seating areas both inside and out with a lovely garden with spacious playing areas. The kitchen has two fridges as well as a freezer and two ovens which was very welcome for a large group. An added bonus is the garage room with table tennis and air hockey which gave opportunity for family games. It is only a short walk to the village green or beach, but a shorter walk to the village store and the deli/bakery. There is also plenty of parking which is rare in Walberswick. It is a gem of a house for a family break in a wonderfully classic coastal village. We have stayed in quite a few houses here and this is by far the best.

Elizabeth B,

A comfortable, well-equipped house that accommodated our extended family group well. The large garden has a variety of places to sit and eat and also plenty of space for small children to run and play. The house is conveniently located, with the amenities and delights of Walberswick within walking distance. We especially liked the open layout of the living areas. The kitchen was well equipped and the good quality plastic plates and bowls were good for outdoor eating and for children. The children liked the toy lobsters on the bunk beds- they were very sad to part from them.

Mrs U,

Excellent week in Walberswick- apart from the weather (but what can you do?). Very well organised and equipped house which has been decorated with care to echo the 1960/70s. A large lovely garden and great outdoor area.

Mr M,
