Description
Intro
Declared England's first 'national disaster', the inferno that destroyed much of Southwold in 1659 gave rise to the town's famous 'Greens' which were to act as future firebreaks and today are the setting for some of its most distinctive family residences. Notable among these is South Green and, with a stay at Grade II-listed number 10b, you can enjoy your own slice of period living along with some very modern refinements.
Bedrooms and bathrooms
Up to eight can be accommodated comfortably here, so 10b South Green is idea for a large family gathering or a group getaway. All on the second floor and off a large, furnished landing, there is a spacious king sized bedroom with sea views and its own en-suite bathroom, then a double bedded room with views over South Green and an en-suite shower room - plus a third family bedroom boasting a set of bunk beds and a double bed. Another shower room and a separate wc are on this level too, whilst a first floor cloakroom adds extra convenience.
Cooking and dining
A delicious complement to the period architecture and attentive detailing that's found throughout the property, the kitchen here is ultra-modern and just as eye-catching. Strokable black work surfaces, sleek white cabinets and clever use of space evoke sheer delight for cooks of every capability - and all the essentials are provided, including electric oven with gas hob, fridge/freezer, microwave and dishwasher. The dining room provides an elegant eating place, complete with a striking period fireplace and French doors that open onto a private balcony with views to Walberswick and beyond.
Outside
South Green - a popular picnic spot in summer - is right outside your holiday residence, and the beach is just a stone's throw away, so holidays here are all about making use of the space around you. But if you crave a little more privacy, 10b has its own pretty first floor balcony where you can sit and watch the world go by.
Practicalities
Wi-fi, TVs and Freeview take care of your night-in entertainment needs, whilst a washing machine and tumble dryer in the second floor shower room take care of any laundry requirements too. On-street parking is available nearby. Should you have access to a Netflix account you will be able to login here too. Pets are not welcome at this property however it is not suitable for allergy sufferers. There are fireplaces at the property, please note these are decorative features only and are not to be used - the central heating at the property is very efficient.
