Description

Intro
Deceptively spacious and effortlessly elegant, this fine Victorian family home enjoys an elevated position just off one of Southwold’s famous greens. Wonderfully welcoming, it’s an excellent retreat featuring a fusion of period features and on-trend furnishings.

Bedrooms and bathrooms
Original fireplaces and typical-of-the-time high ceilings add to the authenticity of the beautifully furnished bedrooms, all found on the first floor. Enjoy elevated views from the double and single-bedded front rooms, which each have freestanding furniture; the third bedroom has twin beds and built-in wardrobes. A family bathroom features a bath with shower overhead, while on the ground floor there’s a shower room complete with WC too.

Cooking and dining
A period property it may be, but there’s only the most up-to-the-minute of fixtures and fittings in the modern kitchen here, including a dual-fuel oven and four-ring gas hob, microwave, dishwasher and fridge with ice box (there’s a further fridge/freezer under the stairs in the hallway). And when it comes where to enjoy the fruits of your labours, there’s a whole menu of options: eat in the elegant dining area, set the sunny conservatory table for a breath of fresh air while you indulge, or move mealtime into the garden and embrace a full-on al fresco experience – the patio suite has plenty of space for all.

Outside
Tucked away at the edge of North Green and close to the friendly bars of the Blyth Hotel, Mount View enjoys a quiet, elevated location within easy walking distance of both town and beach. A rear garden features lawn and patio areas and is fully-enclosed: it’s the perfect play space for children and pets, and a great spot for soaking up some sun too.

Practicalities
A charming sitting room complete with comfy sofas and period fireplace with gas fire, sets the scene for peaceful evenings and grown-up time together, while a vast open plan living area is the real hub of this lovely holiday home and spacious enough for group get-togethers. TVs, DVDs, books and games will keep guests of all ages entertained, while WiFi assures your connection to the outside world and gas central heating keeps things cosy all-year-round. There’s on-street parking close by, and a utility room complete with washer dryer adds to the home-from-home experience. Steps lead up to the property so it may not be suitable for the less-able and though two well-behaved dogs are welcomed, the owner kindly requests no puppies under a year old, and no children aged less than five.  Please note that Mount View is situated next door to Kintyre so larger groups may be interested in booking both properties.
