Description

Intro

Elegant yet supremely guest-friendly, this gorgeous seaside residence makes light work of catering for a big holiday group and comes complete with an enclosed garden, off-street parking and a games room… all just a short wander from the iconic Pier and Promenade.

Bedrooms and bathrooms

Luxurious, light, and sure to lull every guest into a great night’s sleep, the five bedrooms here are spread across two floors for the ultimate in convenience. On the ground floor, a twin-bedded room is ideally located next to a wet room that has a walk-in shower, wc, washbasin and heated towel rail – for additional flexibility, these facilities can also be accessed via lobby off the main hall. Above, on the first floor there are two further double-bedded rooms. The first has views to the Pier and a lobby leading into an en suite shower room, while the second has a Juliet balcony with views to the sea and enjoys use of an en suite shower room also. A double bed in another of the rooms can be converted into two singles if you’d prefer – just let us know when you book – and has a lovely bay window with views to the Pier. Guests in this room have shared use of a large family bathroom with the occupants of the fifth bedroom, which has twin beds, while an attractive landing at the top of the stairs allows space for everyone to move around comfortably.

Cooking and dining

It may be close to the coast, but there’s a definite country style to the stunning combined kitchen and dining room here – hand-built cabinets are complemented by a butler sink and the high-end equipment includes a six-burner Falcon range cooker, Liebherr fridge and separate freezer, a walk-in larder and John Lewis dishwasher.  The heritage feel is enhanced by wooden flooring and painted furnishings, and the rustic-looking dining suite that sits at the centre of this heart of the home. Summer wouldn’t be complete without a meal or two outdoors, of course, and here you can do-it-yourself thanks to the barbecue that’s located in the enclosed landscaped garden – just remember to bring some charcoal.

Outside

The Pier area is popular all year round, so the off-street parking to the front of this property is much-prized. When you want to let off steam away from the crowds, head for the enclosed garden to the rear – landscaped with both a lawn area and a paved terrace, it houses a garden room complete with seating and, for settling friendly rivalries, a table tennis table and darts board.

Practicalities

All rooms on the ground floor lead off a bright, spacious hall where polished wooden flooring and a large dresser packed with books and games hints at the fun times ahead. The storm porch before this has space for coats, boots and buggies, while there’s additional storage space in the utility room where you’ll also find a water softener, sink, washing machine and tumble dryer. There’s a TV with Freeview and a DVD player in the comfort-conscious sitting room plus additional TVs in two of the first floor bedrooms, and free WiFi, bed linen and towels are all included in your holiday cost. Up to two medium-sized dogs are welcome to join the holiday party – with the seafront and some great coastal walks just a woof away, it would be a shame to leave them at home!

Reviews

The White House truly is home from home. It is spacious, comfortable and extremely well equipped and all 9 of us, from 6 to 76 yrs, loved it. A perfect place to celebrate a 50th wedding anniversary.

Past Customer,

The White House inSouthwold is a beautiful house. It is situated very close to the beach and only a short walk to the town which has a wide variety of shops. I booked the house through Heritage hideaways, it was taken over by Suffolk secrets but the transition was very smooth and did not affect my booking in any way. I particularly liked the chat service available on the website. I would recommend Suffolk secrets to friends and would use their service again in the future.
