Description

Intro

It’s good to know that a holiday hotspot such as Southwold can still conjure up a surprise or two… this beautifully-renovated bungalow will truly take your breath away! Behind its traditional-looking exterior is an on-trend blend of contemporary styling and every ‘mod con’ you could want, plus plenty of space for eight to live, laugh and sleep in ultimate-comfort.

Bedrooms and bathrooms

Multi-generational parties, groups of friends and two-family gatherings can be accommodated here effortlessly. On the ground floor a king-bedded room boasts its own en suite shower room, while a second room has twin beds and dual-aspect windows which fill it with light. A fresh blue-and-white family bathroom complete with bath and overhead shower finalises the line-up of conveniences on this floor. Up a level, and a clever loft conversion creates two further bedrooms – one with a king-size bed and the other with twin beds plus plenty of space for play; there’s even a TV with DVD/BluRay player, making this a perfect space, perhaps, for children. The first floor family bathroom is close by and includes a bath with hand-held shower.

Cooking and dining

An open plan living area is the heart of this lovely holiday home and features well-defined zones decorated and furnished to the highest quality. In the bright, white kitchen area you’ll find all the essentials for easy living, including an electric oven and induction hob, dishwasher, microwave, fridge/freezer and washing machine. Step into the conservatory-style dining area and you’re spoilt for space – the dining table and colourful accompanying seating are bathed in light and enjoy a lovely view over the garden, where you’ll discover a paved patio area complete with outdoor table and chairs.

Outside

A small garden with central path leads to the door of this double-fronted property, and to one side there’s sufficient off-road parking space for up to two cars. The larger rear garden is laid mainly to lawn and has some mature trees and shrubs, plus a sunken patio area and fences all-round – perfect if your holiday party includes a pet or young children.

Practicalities

WiFi, bed linen and towels are included in your holiday price, and a travel cot and highchair are available for the comfort of younger visitors. Gas central heating keeps every room cosy, while the woodburning stove is a welcome winter warmer and a lovely way to add ambience to the sitting area, where a TV with Freesat and an iPod dock are provided. One well-behaved dog is welcome here – the Pier and promenade are at the end of the road so there are plenty of good walks right on the doorstep.

Reviews

The house is spacious and well laid out and has off-street parking. Briar Patch is only five minutes walk from the pier and less than ten from the centre of town. Also you don't have to drive through the town to get to the house from the main road. The lovely little theatre is just round the corner. I will definitely be recommending this property to my friends.

Past Customer,

This is wonderful house to stay in. The facilities are brilliant and the layout and space are perfect for a group as there is lots of comfortable communal space but also space for independence.

Mrs Sally S,
