Save the date for the fourth annual Southwold Arts Festival! Saturday 24th June to Saturday 1st July 2017.
The Festival opens with a free street party, which will begin with a parade; this year’s theme is Take Flight. Everyone is encouraged to dress up and take part and we will have a colourful parade of fairies, butterflies, birds, superheroes, planes - in fact anything with wings. The Suffolk School of Samba will lead the parade up the High Street to the Market Square from 12 noon and there will be a full afternoon of street entertainment, music, dance, choirs, stalls and local food and drink until 6pm.
There is a glorious line up of concerts, recitals, performances and seminars throughout the week, starting with The Simon and Garfunkel Story, which So Southwold is delighted to be sponsoring. Pam Ayres will be performing ‘some more of her poetry’, former BBC Gardeners World presenter Christine Walkden will be speaking about the thrills and spills of life as a gardener and broadcaster, a plethora of talented young musicians will be performing, the list goes on… To view the full programme of events click here.
