Dining Experience at The Sail Loft

In September the So Southwold team had the opportunity of dining out in Southwold after a busy day in the office. We couldn’t wait to give The Sail Loft a try – a brand new restaurant located along Ferry Road. Some of you may remember it used to be known as The Dutch Barn and more recently Casa Mia.

The restaurant has a great parking area which leads to a lovely garden with picnic tables and side entrance into the restaurant.

Inside the restaurant it has plush decors all of which are of a high standard. You get the impression you are dining somewhere rather special yet there is a very laid-back, friendly atmosphere.

I can honestly say I had the best soft drink in The Sail Loft I have ever tasted! I’d never heard of Posh Pop by Breckland Orchard, a Cambridge based business with a range of fantastic soft drinks. Flavours include cloudy lemonade and ginger beer and chilli. The one I had at The Sail Loft was strawberry and rhubarb. Lush!

There is a good selection of starters and main courses on their menu with a specials board offering further choice. We all opted for a main course and I think The Sail Loft Burger was a winner all-round! Who doesn’t love a brioche burger bun?! I think I began to get a taste for strawberry and rhubarb as for dessert I opted for the strawberry and rhubarb crumble with creme anglaise!

Located in Ferry Road just yards from the beach, The Sail Loft is the ideal place to dine with family, friends, a romantic meal for two or simply a quick coffee stop. Not only do they serve lunches and evening meals but also there is a breakfast menu available from 8am until 12pm daily. Sunday lunches are also served 12 – 8pm with three roast dinner options such as pork, lamb and beef as well as other main course dishes.

The Sail Loft also have the option of picnic lunches which can be enjoyed in the restaurant or if you’re heading off to the beach for the day they can prepare a beachside hamper for you!

Why not try out The Sail Loft during your next Southwold holiday? We thoroughly recommend it!
