Here Comes The Sun!

We’d like to extend a warm welcome to all our guests that are staying in our Southwold holiday cottages this week! After a balmy and stormy weekend, things are looking a little clearer for the week ahead. As at 21/07/2014 11-21am, the BBC Weather app forecasts sun and an average of 22 degrees for period 21-27th July in Southwold.

To help you make the most of your stay here are a few suggestions on things to do in Southwold this week.Don’t forget to pick up a card from our office which will give you a voucher code to give you a booking fee discount off your Summer 2015 holiday with Southwold Lettings.  Enjoy your week and don’t forget the suntan cream!

Southwold Model Yacht Regatta "Pout Cup"

Come on down to the Model Boat Pond and join in the fun with Southwold's first model yacht regatta of the summer season. Sailors of any age and ability can join in but pre-registration is advisable.

After all the fun of the race, why not pop across to the Tea Room Pavilion at Southwold Boating Lake for an ice cream or a cuppa and a delicious slice of homemade cake. Don't forget to explore the beautiful nature island located behind the Tea Rooms and see how many different species of birds you can spot.

Circus Hassani, The Common (next to The Old Water Tower)

Circus Hassani returns to Southwold! Don’t forget to pick up your discounted entry voucher from us at The Old Water Tower, Southwold.  Entry is normally £10 for adults and £8 for children, but with our discounted entry voucher all tickets are £6. Simply present the voucher at the Circus Hassani Box Office.

Southwold Maize Maze

The Southwold Maize Maze returns to Southwold - with a new theme for 2014 - RNLI Lifeboats and Southwold Harbour. Open every day from now until 3rd September 2014 for more information click here. Other fabulous activities at Southwold Maize Maze include pedal cars, a climbing tower with slides, a giant sandpit (with a canopy), and a jumping pillow.

Opening hours: 10am - 6pm, 19th July - 3rd September 2014. Last entry 4.30pm

Southwold Putting Green and Southwold Golf Course

Any budding Rory McIlroys amongst you? Head on down to Southwold Golf Club for a leisurely round of golf, whilst admiring the stunning views across the common to the harbour, Walberswick and beyond. For the little ones, don’t forget to visit Southwold Putting Green which is situated just across from Southwold Pier (corner of Pier Avenue and North Parade).

Vintage Market at Southwold Boating Lake

Ohhh who doesn’t love a rummage through some vintage clothes or a spot of haggling! For all budding bargain hunters, and “flog it” fans, why not come on down and see if you can spot the real Claris Cliff jug from the lookalike jug! Mandy and the lovely other vintage ladies will all be there to ply their wares at the painted beach huts by Southwold Boating Lake.

Southwold Lighthouse Tours

Kids need to burn off a little energy? Why not get them to walk to the very top of Southwold’s iconic lighthouse to get a bird’s eye view of our gorgeous Suffolk coast. You may have spotted the lighthouse in the BBC series: 'Grandpa in My Pocket', so why not join a tour and experience its mighty heights for yourself.
